Basic Elements

The hype for lightweight running shoes is growing as big as the current "running-boom" itself. When I train, I come across newbies decked out with the latest shoe technologies offered by athletic-wear companies (choose between LunarLite, Gel, ABzorb, adiZero, etc.). While their shoes are always nice to look at, one must wonder if these technological developments are just right or is it too much for the needs of our runners?

Team New Balance's Anton Krupica alludes to the saying "less is always more". In the video, this seasoned ultramarathoner shares his passion for running, his love for all things natural, as well as his position on the type of shoes best fit for runners. His weapon of choice, of course, is The Minimus. Why, you ask? Just watch.

I'm inspired. Might plan an early-morning run because of this.
